Home insurance · Fire & contents

Home insurance for your property and everything in it.

We consider protection against fire and other selected risks for the building, its contents or both. The proposal reflects your home, how it is used and your needs.

Discuss insurance for your home

What is the difference between buildings and contents cover?

Buildings insurance covers the structure and fixtures defined in the policy. Contents include items such as furniture, appliances and household belongings. We clarify what you want to insure, whether you own or rent your home.

How we plan around your needs

01

We get to know your home.

We record the property’s characteristics, use and existing insurance. We discuss what a serious loss would mean for your finances.

02

We define what needs protection.

We consider the building and contents separately, and the value for which each will be insured.

03

We select cover with clear terms.

We discuss fire and any additional risks. I explain what is included, what is excluded and your share of a claim.

Before you choose

  • Description of the property and insured items.
  • Insured values, limits and how claim payments are calculated.
  • Covered risks, exclusions and your share of the cost.
  • Security requirements and the claims notification procedure.

Your first questions

Are earthquake and flood automatically included?

We check whether the specific proposal includes them and on what terms. The label ‘fire insurance’ alone does not tell you everything the policy covers.

I already have insurance through my mortgage. Should I review it?

We start with your existing terms and schedule of cover, so you can see what is provided for the building and what is provided for your contents.
